Dajti Mountain National Park is located east of the capital city of Tirana and offers visitors an incredible panoramic view of the city below. It is a protected area that contains forests, rolling hills, meadows and a wide variety of wildlife including wild boar, Eurasian wolf, red fox, European hare, brown bears and wildcats.

The mountain is accessible via an asphalted road which leads to Fusha and Dajtit – former summer camp sites which are now home to many restaurants and radio & TV broadcasters. This area has been dubbed the ‘Balcony of Tirana’ for its stunning views.

Hiking in Dajti Mountain National Park is a popular activity for locals and tourists alike, with many trails leading up to different peaks including the Tujani peak (1,580m) – the highest point that can be reached on foot. From here you can enjoy an amazing view inland that includes Lake Bovilla surrounded by mountains and Tirana’s distant highlands where St. Mary Miçek Mountain dominates the skyline.

In addition to this main hiking area there is also Brari mountain to the north near village Brar which contains a panoramic canyon, an Ottoman bridge built in 1603 and a cave known as Guri i Zi or Black Cave due to its jet black walls made from volcanic rock. All these areas make for some really spectacular hikes within Dajti Mountain National Park with plenty of photography opportunities along the way!
