Bunk’Art is an extraordinary attraction that brings the recent political past of Albania into clear focus. Situated in Tirana, this converted Cold War bunker was constructed to serve as a refuge for the country’s Communist-era politicians and military leaders during a potential nuclear war. Stretching across five levels and featuring over one hundred different rooms, including a 200-seat meeting hall, the bunker is truly remarkable in its size and detail. Until recently, it had remained a closely guarded secret throughout its existence.

The entrance to the Bunk’Art museum lies within a dark tunnel near an active Albanian military base on a hillside outside Tirana city centre. Inside its walls are host to exhibitions combining both the modern history of Albania with contemporary art pieces from local and international creators alike.

In addition to showcasing the relics of past regimes and their impact on present day life in Albania, Bunk’Art also hosts various special events such as theatrical performances, debates and educational talks regarding human rights issues and other matters of relevance to society today. It is also an ideal venue for corporate functions or unique weddings; whether it be cocktail receptions in hidden rooms or dinners set up on secret terraces with picturesque views of Tirana valley below.

Bunk’Art provides an aesthetically pleasing yet thought provoking experience that has attracted thousands of visitors since its opening in 2014. It has become an iconic symbol of Tirana’s identity – making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city centre and beyond!
